Mary was doing the dishes and watching her sister at the same time, now of course her mother was outside smoking a cigarette. Her mother had just gotten back from her first day at her new job an had found out that Mary had spent her change from the left over money she had. Now when Mary had spent her mother's money that previous day she had had a meaningful conversation with her younger cousin. She was still ashamed of herself from ruining his innocence an she could understand why he was so protective of his mother, because Mary was the same way with her mother...except she knew that she had no control over her mother's decisions, she could only say so much but her mother wouldn't listen. Mary hated seeing her cousin like this, usually he was smiling an laughing but today he was unusually quiet, mary could tell right away that he wanted to get something off of his chest. Mary hated the pain she saw in his eyes when he said that he hated when his mother lied to him about her "friends", because she remember feeling like that when she was younger than him. Now she's used to it, but she still plays innocent. She wanted to change to conversation so she turned on his favorite song...it took awhile but he began to rap an dance to it. She couldn't help but wonder how he must've felt when he saw that her "friend" had the same skin condition as him, he told Mary that he had wanted to ask him questions about it...mary could tell that he was insecure about his skin condition an she hated it. Mary and her cousin finally made it to the store, when Mary walked in she was already greeted with stares from adults. Mary had also brought along her 1 year old sister, she knew what their staring meant. Mary hated this feeling, she hated their stares, but she didn't say anything; mary played it as if nothing was happening, they bought her sister some diapers because she had ran out an her mother wasn't able to get her anymore because she was at work. When Mary handed the lady the diapers she could see in her eyes that she felt pity for Mary. Mary wanted to scream and cry an tell everyone that that wasn't her baby but she didn't want to embarrass anyone. So Mary bought some snacks and walked off.
