when I grew up they smeared

a red substance on my lips
a different shade on the face
"This is your mask " ..they said
a mask you shall never take off
a mask you'll fool everyone with
a mask you must wear your entire life
when I have kids I pitty them
they will never know their mom
she is used to wearing faces and masks
she forgot what she was
she forgot who she should have been
she was always conformed
she always played her part
"I'll be anybody but me" this is the line she use every day
