This is a wave that seems impossible to avoid. I can't keep my head above water and I'm struggling to stay just below the surface.
I have to use all of my strength to keep from being sucked further down. It seems too easy to let myself drown. To give up would be less than satisfactory but it's all I wish to do.
Friends on the surface reaching out for me but they can't go below the water's surface and I can't reach above.
