If I left this shell what would they say?
Inside this cocoon of me.
The me that each move I make is the aching of bones breaking, scraping at my skin,
A heart that beats no longer dead inside this rib cage of me.
These voices of mine they trapped me in
Erecting a shell of insecurities around me
Now I know I am different it cannot sustain me
My comfort zone pleas
Stay with me
If I emerge from this shell what would they say?
Will they utter
This is not me,
Not the me they know and see
But the me that has grown past their vision and my own
Grown from the past and all that it was, is no longer.
This cocoon can't contain me!
This shell shatters around me
I am me
Me and I am free!
