Meddler of the Night

I called it a day:
I went to bed to lay,
I turned off the lights,
I couldn't forget about that night.
Middle of the night:
I see nothing nor the light,
When I rolled over,
I felt nothing, but fear.
I should have closed the door;
I let the spirit in, who brought me woe.
He didn't enter through the door,
He just stood by the window.
It was not worth remembering,
Yet, I could still remember everything.
Yes, I could remember,
I could only shiver.
It was a man,
Looking at me without an eye.
It was a man,
Touching me without any hands.
It's just his shadow
In the black tinted window.
He was just standing,
How did he frighten me?
While I tried to shout loudly,
He kept looking at me.
Finally, I screamed, "Mommy!"
Yet, no one could hear me.
When I finally moved my body,
I got up frighteningly,
I turned the lights on.
By the window, it was gone.
Since then, I had never turned off the lights,
I never forget to close the door,
I never looked at the window,
I couldn't forget about that night.
