Meditations in Eternal Night
In the prison of endless night, I sift through grief’s thread
Like shadows twisted into knots, sorrow winding deep and red
Before I could rewind the past, you drew me close from behind
“Do not let old pain strike your face—you’ve walked through darkness blind,
And let the wind’s sharp blades shatter bone and bind…”
Tears fall like falling stars, yet I break into a smile
Turning to trace each line of your visage, mile by mile
My Jade—like an immortal cast down from nether skies
Eyes cold as frosted steel, gleaming like ghost-fire’s rise
Lips red as coagulated blood, earlobes pink as buds in shadow’s guise
Hair long as cascading night, sweeping past the Styx’s lies
In my eyes, you are perfection ‘mid chaos and demise
“Why do all forms you take make even night grow pale?”
I murmur playfully, my fingers winding ‘round your nape and veil
Your gaze sinks into abysses deep, like pools of frozen time
Brows furrow soft as jade, warm as sun on snow-clad climb
I know your heart now flutters with shy design
My smile blooms wide and bright—as if I’ve won the world sublime
To you, words of earth are dust, tossed by fate’s rough chime
But when they leave my lips, they twist into your soul’s vine
Ah, my Jade—when bashful, you speak not a word
Yet I know well the silent answer you’ve stirred
I close my eyes and taste the tide of love that surges deep
Oh, my Jade… you love to bite my lower lip, as if to bind our fates in sleep...🌘✨01242026 ©LanZhan
