Memories

The summer sun burned the oak wood
Covered in fresh white paint.
The grass danced with the wind,
The sun smiled down with happiness,
All while a little girl with copper-colored hair,
Beamed with happiness
At the world before her.
She is so light and cold,
Said the brand new swings
While they danced with the little girl.
Her smile brings joy to me,
Said the hot summer sun.
A voice from beyond the trees,
calling the girl to come home.
She waved to her newly made friends,
while the girl with copper-colored hair disappeared.
A few years pass by.
A teenage with copper-colored hair ran by.
I bet she’s the toddler
Said the bronze-colored bars.
Her steps feel heavier than before,
Said the cold hard soil.
The swings danced slowly with the wind
While the girl with copper-colored hair ran by,
Not even glancing at her old friends.
Years upon years passed.
The grass dancing with the wind,
Now swayed slowly with the wind.
The sun that once smiled down with happiness,
Now weeps tears upon the abandoned park.
They watched the trees die as time went on.
It was a cold fall morning.
The wind blew with anger,
The clouds cried upon his rusted friends.
Those hands are cold and the weight is light,
Said the rusted swing.
Her feet treaded lightly upon me,
Said the soaked ground.
The sun looked down upon his friends,
He smiled brightly at the sight he saw.
Their old friend with copper-colored hair was back,
Accompanied by a small little figure
With coppered-colored hair.
