Memories

Oh, do you not know, how much I miss you,
The sweet moments we spent hand in hand,
Back then, you were so kind and bland,
How we used to sneak out during the chilly nights,
Although we knew that it wasn’t right,
Sharing every piece of our mind with each other, we always stood side by side,
From our parents, our mysteries we used to hide,
At the end of the day, parting with you stung,
In my ears, your words consistently rung.
However, you didn’t tell me one significant, undisclosed tale,
How would I have tried, to get more time to spend?
As the clock of your life ticked by, I wish I could have had a hand to lend,
To my very dear one, to prevent you from harm,
For I still remember the night, under The Great Baobab Tree, when you were in a state of alarm,
For I still remember the glimmer of the moon, the night you died in my arms.
