Oceans float within the clouds
In single drops that fall to earth
And so I fish the skies for you
A mermaid with wet angel wings.
You swim through the deep blue clouds
Between the thunder rolling over you
And the lightening that makes your
Eyes glow from deep within.
I saw you once among the clouds
Like Eric saw Ariel swim on by
I knew right then that I desired you
With something more than simple lust.
Your scales glowed gold as the
Sun broke through the cumulus clouds
A signal to you to return to earth
And swim within the oceans there.
I hope that one day you’ll see me
And come to me without the need
For rod or hook to capture you
As you float within heaven’s home.
When you finally come to me
I hope you’ll let me reach out
And caress your golden hair
As you swim in circles around me.
One touch is all I need to know that
You are truly there and not just
Another figment of my dreams that
I could never really touch.
And so I wait and watch for you to
Swim across the azure sky because
I hope that one day we’ll swim together
Forever within the cumulus clouds.
