Mirror

I wonder when it happened.
Where it all went wrong.
When I became so saddened.
And stopped singing my song.
I started looking in the mirror.
Seeing all my flaws.
Insecurity has heightened my terror.
Consuming me in it's mighty jaws.
I started worrying about my body,
and about my spotty face.
I lost my favorite hobby,
and I also lost the race.
I wanted to pass the finish line,
Be far in the lead.
But now I'm crawling behind,
depression sowing it's seed.
I'm clawing my way forward.
But I fear I'm slowing down.
There's nothing I'm moving toward,
nothing but a broken crown.
The crown was once my life.
My pride and my joy.
But it has brought naught but strife.
It was nothing but a toy.
But for all those that are suffering,
please head my sorrow.
Do not head the worlds muffling,
for there is always a tomorrow.
