Mistakes are an inevitable part of being human, but it's astonishing how those who are supposed to offer love, guidance, and support can sometimes cast us aside for a single misstep. I call it a mistake because it's typically not a pattern of behavior; everyone, regardless of age, is susceptible to errors. When you reject someone because of a mistake, especially your own child or a young person, you're not just dismissing their action; you're jeopardizing their sense of worth and belonging.
