You were quite, they thought it was your pride.
You were shy, they thought it was a lie.
You never cried upfront but died deep down inside a million little times.
But when I tried to break your walls, you broke me instead.
I thought you felt low, you thought it was my ego. You called it attitude, when all I had was a bit gratitude. Wanted to make you comfortable but you made me vulnerable. Found that I was running from myself in the name of fixing you. Deep down I realized I was somewhat like you.
I called you rude. For you I was an overly sweet mood & maybe fake too. Anyway, who got the cake? It's neither you, nor me. Just somebody who didn't even care. But I couldn't dare to overlook your fall. So I made a call and stood tall. It wasn't a doll play at all. I had only started to crawl. You misunderstood because I was trying to hide the truth to maintain the ruth. But I was going to lose a loved one real soon. Terminal illness it was, so I terminated myself from it all 'cause you were constantly looking for a flaw. I started to feel wired, honestly tired.
Couldn't wear the mask, left uncompleted task on the desk. Told myself I need some rest. Sadness overtook my chest. I had to go through the same grief again. Not brief this time. No fast relief as well. 'Cause you just added up to the list of the misunderstood.
