Modern Laughter

Drowning on the ceiling, with no fear of dreaming. Crawling down the hallway, feels like I've done this before.
Modern laughter the morning after, shallow signs of feelings, it's got me reeling in these things I've been misreading, things I kept conceiving.
Breath is course from this force, the things I believed in, there pushing me into the ceiling, but deep down I feel I'm conceding.
But this brunt I bear, from my very heart I share, tears cracks down the kitchen sink, it didn't allow me the time to think.
Gushing water, flooding the kitchen floor. I know I've seen this before, just require one more time to score, gives me one last night to soar.
For you my love I adore. I keep your pictures scattered all over the floor. These memories I keep, makes my life seem less bleak.
But every step I take is weak, I can no longer feel my feet. It makes me feel higher. This time around I'll climb down off the wire. I will get some rest, to continue this very test.
