I lift my head up,
and smile.
The library is full ,
to which I'm proud off.
It's a cold winter's morning ,
with rain drops that shower down, as if the heavens are hurting.
I look around ,
inspecting the new faces.
It's great to see that library members,
know that a library exists.
A child hesitates
Yet picks up a book anyway.
With a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye
It's good to assume that she enjoys it.
I look to the adults,
and shake my head in disappointment.
Glued to thier phones
and lost in thier own world.
It seems as if they dont know -
That a book could do the same.
Maybe I had made a mistake,
To connect free wifi in the library.
A library shouldn't be modernized -
For book lovers ,
a book is better than any phone or website.
