Mala went out and waits for Chris behind the porch so her parents will not see her since she made up the excuse of going to the library. If she were going to the library to read, she would go alone.
10 minutes after Chris arrives,
she leaps onto the back of his motorcycle, and he takes off swiftly.
It took them an hour an a half to get to downtown where Panda Express is located in the loop on 44th N Wabash. "We made it. Downtown always seems so far," she said. When they gets to Panda Express, it was not overloaded with people. "Seems peaceful in here, not that many people."
"And that's what I love about down town spots, because they have less people hanging out, people minds their own business around here, less talking and like you said, peaceful. Sometimes I come here to study or clear my mind," he said.
"You drive all the way down here just to study or to clear your head?" She asked.
"Yeah, it doesn't bother me," taking his coat and hat off and they both go up to the counter to order. "What you like?"
"Orange chicken and chicken fried rice dinner," she said.
"Cool, I will have a large shrimp fried rice with 5 egg rolls," he said.
"Five egg rolls?" She asked.
"Yeah, what?" He asked.
"You can eat five egg rolls at the same time?" She asked.
"Yeah I have, I have an huge appetite, sports players usually do anyway," he said. They sit in the back area of the restaurant.
"So inform me about your religion," putting their orange tray down, and takes both of their coat and hat off gently and places it on the back of the chair and their hat lying on the table.
"We worship Lord Ganesha. That is our God who we believe in, and he is very powerful. So our family believe in Ganesha our lord and savior. We keep 4 statues of Lord Ganesha in our house..." Getting interrupted.
"Where did you guys get the statues from?" he asked.
"In India, Indian rupees are two dollars in the stores, that's how cheap it is. If you order it somewhere on Amazon, it will cost a hundred in something," she informs
"Woow, why so high in cost here?" He asked taking a big bite of his egg roll.
"Because of shipping and it's very valuable," she informs.
"Ooh, so just say if I got a Ganesha statue for hundred and something on Amazon, it would be that useful and powerful?" He asked.
"Chris, the Ganesha statue is very powerful, and it doesn't matter from where you buy it, if you will believe on him he will protect you mark my words trust is the key Chris," she informs.
"Right," being uncertain.
"I can tell you an incident about me and my family in Goa 5 years ago where we was vacationing, and spent some nights in the hotel and it was haunted, and I was scared and we could feel evil there as soon as we walked in the door, the feeling was very intense. It was like 2am, and so me and Martia slept in one room, while the others slept in the other together. thank God we had that Ganesha trophy, so we usually take it for protection. So my parents placed Lord Ganesha's statue on the bedside table, and my parents tells the evil spirit that it should leave us in peace as we have done nothing wrong and my lord is with me and believe me Chris, after that, the evil presence was gone. So we stayed peacefully in the hotel for some time then. That's how I know Lord Ganesha is real and he does protects us from evil."
"Wow, convincing story," he said.
