On Saturday morning, Mala and Chris goes to the library again to discuss more ancient Native American topics. She is introducing him to the history of Bhagavad-Gita.
"This is my scripture book I want you to know. So Bhagavad Gita is known as the Gita, which is the book of 700 verse Hindu scriptures. It is a book of using spiritual wisdom. These scriptures are spoken from Lord Sri Krisna, the Lord who I was telling you about," she informs.
"Yeah," he said.
"So the Gita verses is like guide to self realization, and this has English translations and commentary on Bhagavad Gita. oà ajïäna-timirändhasya
jïänäïjana-çaläkayä
cakñur unmélitaà yena
tasmai çré-gurave namaù
çré-caitanya-mano-’bhéñöaà
sthäpitaà yena bhü-tale
svayaà rüpaù kadä mahyaà
dadäti sva-padäntikam. Meaning in English, "I was born in the darkest ignorance, and my spiritual master opened my
eyes with the torch of knowledge. I offer my respectful obeisances unto him.
When will Çréla Rüpa Gosvämé Prabhupäda, who has established within this
material world the mission to fulfill the desire of Lord Caitanya, give me shelter under his lotus feet?"
