Later that day, Trenti and Staci catches the bus together. Trenti can not believe how nice it is hanging out with a girl. They now gets off the bus and enters JC Penney's parking lot mall entrance, he nervously reached for her hand, and she gives it to him with a playful smile, as if they have been actually going together for months. He feels so happy having Staci on his side.
On the way to the jewelry section inside the store, Trenti can feel the looks of passing boys there, the envious stares. Staci is the kind of girl who always gets a lot of attention, and the boys was obviously wondering what is an average geeky odd looking foreign boy like him doing with a girl like her, and she is white and attractive
As they walk towards the jewelry department, Trenti feels very awkward. They are the only teenagers in the jewelry department. An older woman with so much grey hair glares at them the minute they got inside the store. "Excuse me what on God's heaven name you're doing here?" Trenti thought she would say judging by her expression. Before Tenti said anything, Staci takes him by his hands and walks to the glass shelf in the center of the store. "My dream necklace, there it is," Staci said excitingly crying while pointing at it. The necklace is sparkling gold and red shiny diamonds. "It's so beautiful right?"
He looks into the displaying necklace stand and notices a small price tag that says 300 dollars on it.
He feels as if he has been punched in the stomach by his sister. "Where am I going to get $300 dollars from?" He thought.
