"Now for the next sessions, we will go back to our individual schedules. Chris you would have your regular sessions with Dr. Ogosvi. You're free to leave Mrs. Atkins said.
When Chris and Mala leaves the room, they start discussing about the future.
"Can I call you tonight?" She asked him.
"Sure," he said.
"I have to catch up with my math assignments because I am so behind on 6 quizzes and 2 tests I missed for the past weeks," she said.
When the day was over with, Mala calls Chris around 10:00.
"So what now? Can we hang out with each other again?" He asked.
"Yeah why not?" She asked.
"Great," he said.
"I had a terrible summer here," she said.
"I know, it sucks. So do you have any plans for the winter break holidays like Christmas or Thanks Giving?" He asked.
"I don't know, we usually just order in on the holidays, like Chinese, Italian etc..." She said.
"Really?" He asked.
"Yep," she said.
"What do your culture usually celebrate?" He asked.
"Makar Sankranti which is a festival of kite flying but even if they don't fly kites they still celebrate it by making sweets and delicious food. Second Rakshabandhan, which is a festival of brothers and sisters. Third, Diwali, which is my favorite of all holidays, also known as Deepawali is celebrated as a significance of triumph of good over evil after Krishna's Victory over Narakasura. Hindus of eastern India associate the festival with the goddess Kali, who symbolises the victory of good over evil, and Navrati, which is a festival that is full of excitement and colour, a time for family and friends to come together and celebrate. Each of the nine days is dedicated to Goddess Durga's nine avatars and considered very auspicious. In each part of India, it has a different significance, God I love my culture, I can go on forever Chris..." She informs.
"It's okay with me babe, I got all night, and those sound like interesting holidays you guys celebrate over there," he said.
"You could come over to my house for the holidays," she said.
"Sure, but I don't know if your parents would let me in," he said, while laughing at his own response.
"Chris I do not give a rats ass what my family thinks about you, who cares if my family doesn't like you, you heard what Mrs. Atkins told you, just always be yourself," Mala advised.
"Yeah, but... I would feel uncomfortable," he said.
"It's normal to feel uncomfortable. Always remember this Chris, we are both in this together, and we fight together when we go through tough situations, we got each other's backs always," she said.
"Yes you're right my love," he said.
"I gotta get off the phone now, see you tomorrow, goodnight," she said.
"Bye babe, and goodnight to you too," he said.
