"So where are you guys from?" Kathy Asked.
"We are from North India," Mala informs.
"Wow, cool," she said.
"We love your colorful clothing," Alice said, complimenting.
"Wow thanks," Mala said.
"We think your outfits are so cool," Alice said.
The classroom has brown wooded tables instead of desks. The classroom is medium in size, and has a green long rectangular chalkboard that flips over. Mr. Alexander's desk is behind the chalkboard. On the left side of the classroom has windows to see across the street where there are houses. There are seven tables in the classroom, and Kathy and the group sits in the back. The Agarwals comes to a stop near the table.
"Aren't you guys gonna sit with us?" Kathy asked.
"We never sit in the back, we always sit in the front row in any class to keep up with the teachers lectures," Mala informs the group.
The group starts laughing. "Well as long as you are part of this group, you are going to be back room dogs," Jake said.
"Jake, cut them some slack, since they are so new here and the only Indians in this school, and is so nice, we are going to listen to what they say, and move to the front," Kathy said.
"Aww come on man, you know we are not front class people, we are not freaks, we don't have to listen to them, who cares if they sits in the front, let them, and we stay back here," Jake demanded.
"No, you can stay back here, we are going to the front, come on guys," she said, while the others gets up and walks with the Agarwals and Kathy to the front, leaving Jake in the back. Jake starts getting fed up and moves to the front with the rest of the group.
"You guys gonna leave me hanging back there all alone?" Jake asked walking to the front table.
"That was your choice, you decided to be the back room dog," Kathy said, while everyone laughs.
More kids starts walking into the classroom and now the classroom is filled.
