Mommy, Take Me Back Home! Pt56

The next day of school, Mala and her family goes to their lockers getting their class books.
"Are you alright Mala?" Mara asked, touching her shoulders.
"Huh... Yeah I'm find Mara, why?" Mala asked.
"Because you've seemed sort of distant and quiet ever since you got back from the party?" She informs.
"I'm fine Mara, honest," she said. "How could Mara sense something wrong?" She thought.
Mala walks behind her family and notices Chris, he notices her as well almost walking pass her, but stops and grabs her hand softly.
"Can I talk to you?" He asked her. She shrugs her hand away out of fear. She do not see Chris as the handsome and charming guy she met anymore. Ever since she had that frightening dream, she sees him differently now, and she sees him as a monster instead of the boy she fell in love with. Even though she looks at him as a monster, she still loves him but by loving Chris, she has to keep a distance because she loves and fears him at the same time, and she does not understand it.
"Mala? MALA? MALA WHAT'S WRONG? WHY ARE YOU WALKING AWAY FROM ME?" He calls her name out loud as she walks away ignoring him.
"You know why," she whispers from a distance.
"What's going on? Why is he acting like that? Is it something going on with you and Chris you haven't told me?" Mara asked out of curiosity.
"No he's just upset because I told him last night over the phone that I don't need anymore distractions because I need to focus more on my studying for right now," she said, making up an excuse so Mara can believe her.
"He should understand that," Mara said.
"Yeah but you know how guys are," she said.
"He just loves you Mala, that's all it is," Mara said, reassuring.
"Yeah, he does," she said.
