Mommy, Take Me Back Home! Pt58

"Okay everyone I am going to assign you to a project to do. You will be working in groups. So it will be only groups of 3, 3 people in each group. You are assigned to do a speech project talking about Disney, and I know you all know about Disney network because you're all kids, and most kids watches Disney," Mr. Alexander instructs.
"I don't, I watch HBO, I grew out of Disney channel when I was 11," Josh said in the back, and everyone laughs.
"Well, I'm not telling you guys to watch it, I'm asking you all to do a speech intro discussing your favorite characters on Disney. I am going to use my projector and show all of you what I am talking about through my experience of intro speech,," Mr. Alexander instructs.

"For example: Quotation: quote by Thomas Merton,“ Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.
Thesis: Art is a big part of my life and art surrounds me everyday, everything is art to me.
Introduction: The items I am going to discuss about are about myself first getting started with art, my three comic books, my single drawing duplicates, and my comedy videos.
1. Art Background History
A. I started doing art when I was 6 years old, when I was in the 4th grade I could not draw that well, so I would get jealous at kids who could draw better than me, I used to watch the kids in my class draw superhero characters while I would draw characters with pizza heads.
"OH MY GOD, WHO WROTE THAT?" Jake asked, out loud while everyone laughs.
"BE QUIET, AND LISTEN, THIS IS MY EXAMPLE JAKE," Mr. Alexander informs.
When a student told me I could not draw, that was when I started practicing on how to draw, and I kept practicing until I got it right. My art started developing when I got into high school. There I was an artist. That’s when I started duplicating comics out of newspapers, and when my architecture teacher informed me not to copy other people’s work, that’s when I started making my own artwork.
"So you're an artist Mr. Alexander?" Jake asked.
"Used to be an artist, now I said listen," he informs.

B. All of my single drawings I created in high school was mostly duplicates I made because I was still practicing on how to draw visually, and to work on my portfolio for the future. I was drawing a lot of superhero characters back than.
 2.  Comics
I really started creating my own comics when I got into college. My first short comic book is call “Mikey and Lisa.” The content of that comic book is about two high school kids discussing about their art classes. Mikey is the smart character, and Lisa is the real dumb character who does not know anything about art and she wants to become a fashion designer.
"Hahahaha," the class laughs.
Mikey teaches Lisa how to critique an art piece and give her own perspective on it and talk about the artist’s purpose on the piece and the techniques the artist uses.

 B. Before I wrote “Mikey and Lisa” I was having trouble understanding how to critique an art piece and give my own interpretation. So I started studying and reading a lot about art terminologies. I studied a lot of famous historical artists, and learning a lot about art inspired me to write a 12 page comic book.
3.  Other characters:
My second comic book is call “The World of Sapiens,” and its about homosapiens entering the urban world while the humans disappear into an island no one knows about, and the sapiens takes over the urban areas. When the homosapiens stayed in the urban areas for awhile, their ape like bodies starts developing into human form. Sapiens begin exploring the urban life, listening to rap music, speaking in slang, using profanity, watching basketball and smashing females.
              B.  The only character that relates to me is Yoti because he is the goofy one, and always cracks jokes and talk about people and swears a lot. That character is another version of me.
4. Dream Comic/ background
When I was little I would always be fascinated about dreams and nightmares. When I would have a dream that stands out to me with a message, I would draw an image based on that dream. Every night before I went to bed, I could not wait to have a dream, I love dreams. 20 years ago, I came up with a terrific idea of making a comic book based on my dreams and nightmares and sleep paralysis I would go through. The name of this comic book is called “Believe in the Curious Dreamers.” I did tons of research about dreams, I read PDF files on dreams, and watched Youtube videos on nightmares and sleep paralysis. I got fascinated on all the information I found about  dreams, and that is when I started creating my dream story.
      B. The setting of this comic book takes place in a classroom. I created a white science teacher name Mr. Perry. He does not teach regular science, he teaches his class about dreams instead. The reason why I came up with the name Mr. Perry is because I had a cool instructor a few semesters ago named Mr. Feri, and he is funny and cool, and my character Mr. Perry has the same personality as Mr. Feri does. All the other characters are teenagers and they all relates to me because they all have my ego and of course they are all white," Mr. Alexander reads.
"Hahahaha," the whole class laughs.
"Those are the examples I want you all to include is your Introduction, topic, thesis, the history of what you're researching about, and a conclusion. You will be taking parts on what to say in your speech project. The only difference is that I was talking about myself and art, and my art history. You all will be talking about your favorite Disney shows," he informs.
"I'm a little confused, so you're saying is that we are doing each parts talking about our favorite Disney Channel character and episode?" Kathy asked, as she raises her hands.
"Yes, when you get into your groups of 3, each person will talk about their favorite show and character on Disney TV. The only difference is that I was talking about my self. This project is due in two weeks, this is a big part of your grade you all, so get it done. Do you all understand?" He asked everyone.
"YESS," they class said.
Mala did not listen to a word what Mr. Alexander said, she just day dreamed through out the whole class period.
"So me, you and Mara are working in groups while Jake, Alice and Martia work together," she informs Mala.
"What about me?" Trenti asked.
"You would have to find your own group," Kathy said.
"Aww geez, don't I ever get any free treatment around here?" He sighs, while getting up from his seat to find 2 partners.
"What are you guys doing after school?" Kathy asked, getting excited.
"I have a chemistry test I have to study for tomorrow," Mara informs.
"Okay well, I was thinking us three could meet up at my house," Kathy informs.
"You didn't want to go to the library?" Mara asked.
"The library is too strict and quiet, if we go there we can not talk, and the library is not a good place to create a project to do, the library is only great for studying purposes only, so how about us three meet at my house this Saturday at 3:00pm, I can pick you guys up from your house? We can have more freedom to talk, no interruptions, popcorn, pizza and sodas? How does that sound?" Kathy asked.
"YUUUM pizza," Mara said, licking her mouth.
"That's great Kathy," Mala said.
"Okay," Kathy said.
"Okay than, me, Martia, and Alice at my place, I'll pick you guys up too," Jake informs.
"Okay," Martia and Alice said.
