Mara sat in her room until either someone called her or if Mala comes in, and 15 minutes later Mala enters the room.
"Mom says dinner will be ready in 20 minutes," Mala said, coming in.
"Okay...Mala? I need to talk to you about something," Mara said, with her arms folded.
"Okay, spare sis," she said, walking up to Mara.
Mara sighs. "So when you and Kathy went down stairs, that's when I had came up with that idea the project, so I went downstairs to tell you guys what the idea I came up with, and I over heard you guys talking," she said.
"Talking about what?" Mara asked
"Talking... Telling Kathy about what happened to you," Mara said, being slightly nervous.
"I don't know what your talking about," she said, folding her arms.
"Telling her about you and Chris," Mara informs.
"I still don't..." She said.
"Aww come on Mala, you could of told me the truth of what really happened between you and Chris, but no, you wanted to tell Kathy instead. You just met Kathy, she is not your sister, I am. You rather trust her than you trust me? Your own flesh and blood?" Mara asked.
"No, it's not like that," she said.
"No Mala, you lied to me, I was thinking you really had a great time but..." Mara said.
"I know Mala, I lied, and I wasn't lying when I said the party went great because it was great until that happened, and the reason why I couldn't tell you or mommy or daddy because I was afraid of how you guys would react," she said.
"Yeah of course, any relatives would react badly if they find out they own flesh and blood gotten raped, how else we would respond to it?" Mara said.
"I didn't want you guys getting Chris in trouble," she said.
Mala explains to Mara all that happened that night with her and Chris in the cabin.
"Even though Chris didn't rape you all the way, he could have, if you didn't stop him," Mara said.
"I know but I still care about him," she said.
"Mala, I don't understand how can you love and care about someone who has violated you," Mara said.
"I don't know, I don't understand it, but I just do. But when I get around him I fear him," she said.
"Mala it wouldn't be healthy if you see him, you need to stay away from Chris," Mara said.
"Kathy mentioned that it would be healthy if I confront him with my honesty so it won't haunt me for the rest of my life," she informs.
"Well I think it would make things a lot worse, and I think you should maybe see someone?" Mara suggested
"See someone? See someone like who?" She asked.
"KIDS? DINNERS READY," Their mother yells out.
"I'll tell you later about it, but I want us both to say a quick prayer before we go downstairs together," Mara informs.
"Okay," she said.
"O lord, Giver of Joy and Happiness, give us some knowledge,
Take us in your refuge, we be
brave celibate and fasting.
We speak the truth, renounce falsehood, do peace among ourselves,
O lord, Giver of Joy and Happiness, give us some knowledge."
"I needed that prayer sis," Mala said, smiling.
"Oh yes we both did," Mara said, giving her sister a comforting hug.
