Mala, Kathy and Mara all received an A on their presentation and speech. When class lets out, Mala was so eager to know what was Mara talking about when she informed her about seeing someone one.
"So what were you saying yesterday about me seeing someone? What do you mean by seeing someone?" Mala asked.
"I meant maybe you should see someone like a counselor, a school counselor because it sounds like you are going through some depression since you told me about the repeated dreams and nightmares," she said.
"A counselor? How?" Mala asked, curiously.
"I don't know, maybe... I think you should tell mommy and daddy about it," she said.
"OH NOOO, YOU FINDING OUT WAS BAD ENOUGH, BUT TELLING MOMMY AND DADDY? NO CAN'T DO," Mala said.
"Mala, you were right about what Kathy said on what you told me. You need to start telling the truth, face your problems, even though it can be hard to do, but we must always be honest with this family and to everyone we meet. Mala you're so brave, you even act older than me and I'm the oldest. I know this situation may seem much of a shock to you, but if we all got through other troubles together, we can get through this together," she informs.
"I don't know, it sounds scary," Mala said.
"The scariest the better. Let's try to find a counselor here for the start. Let's ask Mr. Richardson, you guys wait here she said.
Mara knocks on Mr. Richardson's door. "COME IN, " he said loudly. "Can I help you?"
"Hi Mr. Richardson, we was wondering if this school has counseling?" She asked.
"Yes we do have the role of school counseling in Academic Support on the high school level, students will work with counselors from freshman through senior year....As students progress through high school, counselors work with them on matters such as scheduling," he informs.
"Cool, so how do we get in?" She asked him.
"Go to room 112, and ask to speak with Mrs. Mattie," he informs.
