It's now almost quarter after four

The sun is hiding behind the clouds

Just peeking through enough light

Mother nature, what it's all about

Water is dripping all around me

To left and right and in front too

Warmer weather has been yearning

To begin sunny days and skies of blue

Today is Monday

Same old cliche

A day to make you gray

Much to your dismay

I was standing as I typed this out

But I decided to go sit down a bit

After a break I will go back to stand

I can't stand like I could as a small kid

There's a tool box in front of me

Dark blue with a yellow handle

Made of plastic with a metal latch

Nothing fancy , just plain and simple

Today is Monday

Same old cliche

The day that turns you gray

So much to our dismay

Today is Monday , starting of the week ,

For some it's most dreaded of days

After a relaxing weekend away from work

Monday arrives , hoping work went away

For some folks the work still continues

A weekend to clean, dust and de-clutter

And there's ones that take a road trip

To visit friends and family like a brother

Today is Monday

Always the same old cliche

A day that will make you gray

Much to our obvious dismay

Today is Family Day here in Canada

A national holiday to celebrate family

I wish everyone , anywhere , a great day

Everyone's families are the same equally

Today is Monday

And still the same old cliche

Dreaded , it will turn you gray

So very much to our dismay

Again , back to work at eight
