Starlight, star bright, as you fade from view,
Stay here beside me, the whole night through.
Darkness, cast your soft and shadowy grace,
Paint maple and cherry in green and red embrace.
Wind, wild wind, with your temper free,
Bring down the glow of the aurora to me.
Clouded sky, turn your dark hues deep,
From heavy black to purple soft and steep.
If all were enchanted, touched by magic’s wings,
No heart would fear what tomorrow brings.
Yet still I wish, with a longing deep and true,
