Oh what a pity
what a loss to humanity
the world so tender
yet didn't realize the mistake made
Oh Africa
what a loss you have been to the world
There are weeping allover the land
Suffering of ages
The people have forsaken this great land
The mountains weep for help
The sea screaming for assistance
And the world powers just stood gazing
at them, thinking they have made the right choice
while the trees beg for mercy, the animals flee their homes,trees bleeding from the top, blood coming out of the mountains
At last the saviours came
We thought they could help us
In one hand they came with the bible
and in the other their guns and grenade
The land cries out! out!
To their broken promise
They promised clothes to cover our nakedness
In turn they tap the resources and leave us helpless
They called themselves saviours
but instead they were like wolfs in sheep clothing
Oh! Africa she is like a flower
so tender,yet the world didn't realize it
when it all started we were happy singing with joy
flying in the wings of happiness
we ignored the dangers of their coming
thinking they will help, instead the destroyed the land and abandoned it to bleed out
Oh! mother Africa
