Mother's love...

I rambled across the lush, verdant fields-
The eastern sky festooned with the gleaming rays,
Of the morning Sun..
A starling I discerned,
Perched on a sprig-
Her two lil babies huddled by her side..
Up she flew into the blue yonder
And disembarked on the other side of the field-
Tunneling the soft sodden mud,
Presumably searching for worms..
I glimpsed the tiny tots-
With their necks craning to see their mother..
Long had they waited and lo!
Appeared their mother with two worms-
Dangling from her bright yellow beak..
The inquisitive me descried how she catered for her babies-
And they happily tucking the worms..
Yet she remained hungry herself.
I comprehend the mother's love-
A portrait of selfless love..
