Mountaintop

The night's gone, I'm empty,
Crossroad mood here after,
Glistened lifeless gaze,
A teardrop, unspoken,
Nameless faces ponder,
Are we even alive?
You see this world above is nothing like ours,
Actual laughs and passionate smiles,
With a lifeless glare,
This wound will only grow ever more painful,
Silent screams for screams of daggers,
Is this life a sin?
Wouldn't it be nice to go to heaven?
But still remain in this world?
I'm so sick of my answers,
Just kill me one more time,
Wait for the animals to have their day to eat,
The images we can't ignore,
Won't leave the back of our minds,
Sink right through the grave,
Welcome home,
Living life in flames,
I'm finally home,
There was a time I wish I could remember,
What you said and what you looked like,
What you meant and what you dread,
As this crawls inside my skin,
Every memory I've repressed,
Or just maybe didn't notice,
All of the gifts I couldn't love,
Was I even there for you?
I'm far from home,
Far away
I can't breathe here,
In this mountain full of lies...
