Born In Twickenham
Grew up In Devon
Met Richard Burton
When I was Seven
Swanage and Wareham
Next places I went
Then a job back In Devon
With all good Intent
Cellerman by day
And learning at night
A cordon bleu chef
He'll see me alright
I gave It all up
And went off to Pirbright
A guardsman I was
Trained and upright
Windsor a while
Then cross the water
Riots and bombs
And Op Farmer’s Daughter
Cyprus and The Gambia
Reward job done well
Then Four years In Surrey
My god that was hell
Then I got out
Made Brentford my home
Isleworth next
But I wasn’t alone
The wife I had with me
Didn’t stay long
Oh well never mind
Thought I’d move on
Then Hounslow and Feltham
For quite a few years
Many happy memories
And a few shed tears
Now I’m In Ramsgate
On the Kent Coast
It’s not quite Devon
But it comes pretty close
