There was a knock on the door.
Weird at this time.
I woke up,
eyes slightly closed,
not fully engaged with life.
As I get to the door,
I hear this unfamiliar sound.
One that could only be described as a whimper followed by an seemingly unintended laugh.
"Who's there?" I screamed,
somewhat patiently.
For, it seemed this being was in some kind of need.
(Knock, Knock, Knock)
"Who's there?" I screamed again,
this time slightly aggravated.
For, this exchange seems to be overly extended.
(Knock, Knock, Knock)
The hairs on my neck stiffen,
as I look through the peep hole.
I don't see a single soul.
Still I hear, (Knock, Knock, Knock).
(Knock)
Some more.
By this time my wife comes down.
She's asking me whats going on.
Why's and how's.
I tell her there's noone here,
there's only the pound.
(Knock, Knock, Knock)
She screams,
I understand her panic.
I also am unable to comprehend the cause of it.
(Knock)
I look through the peep hole again.
Yellow eyes stare back at me,
leaving a hole in my head.
My wife then opens the door
and let's me in.
