The wet grass
While mom told me
To slow down but
I wanted to be the first
To get an ice cream.

As my brother and I
Turned the music loud
And bounced up
And down on our
Little beds in our
Little bedroom.
Sixteen
Laugh and laugh
As I hung out with
Friends at the school
Dance and we made
Fools of ourselves
Just to stand out
From all of the
Other boys.
Twenty
Laugh and laugh
As my friends and I
Drank too much and
Tried to dance with
The girls at the club
While mom and dad
Worried at home
