Today, I should be dead.
Today, i should be mourned.
Today, i should be at my own funeral, watching the mourners with tears, soaking the carpet.
Today, i should be buried 6 ft under.
But today.....I am alive and it is my birthday!
Oh! What a wonderful, unforgettable birthday i had:
Oh! who am I kidding! I was sarcastically joking about my birthday being wonderful
You know....i lived to see many birthdays; the older i get, it doesn't feel like my birthday.
But my 23rd birthday it felt like i never turned 23....
I was expecting a lot of birthday wishes
Appreciation for being alive
Gifts from loved ones
Hell, even a cake!
But the same people.....i gave birthday gifts too,
the same people that were close to me,
the same people i never forgot about their birthday,
the same people i were expecting to wish me a happy birthday
either forgot
or they just didn't give a damn about my birthday.
