I do not pray to gods above,
For I find solace in the now,
In reason and in science,
And in the love of those around.
I do not seek forgiveness,
For I take responsibility,
For my actions and my choices,
And strive to do the best I can be.
I do not ask to be delivered,
From the trials of this life,
For they shape and make me stronger,
And help me to survive.
I do not need a kingdom,
For I find peace in the world we share,
And I will work to make it better,
With love and understanding, care.
I do not say "thy will be done",
For I make my own way,
And I will live my life with purpose,
Until my final day.
So I will not recite the Lord's Prayer,
For it is not for me,
But I'll live my life with kindness,
And let that be my creed.
