My Bible, Your Quran (The Poem)

Our enjoined history is enshrouded in the dirtiest of linens
With a lot of unnecessary religious discrimination
I would swear that they didn't know better then
But wouldn't that be a huge pile of horse poo
Maybe the whole thing really isn't the fault of any of us
Perhaps our present would be different if Isaac and Ishmael remained close brothers
Whatever could have been is trapped in whirlpool of 'what ifs'
But I refuse to give up, damn it
we're all humans, descendants of Abraham
So I read my Bible and you your Quran
They are both beautiful books to guide us on this treacherous path called Life
Let's not desecrate the teachings of these Holy Books
If your book teaches you to Love God your maker and other human beings just as mine does
Then maybe we're not so different after all
Because he who created us bears many names, and our entirety is not even to unravel the awesomeness that he is.
PS: Not a diss to believers of any religion or non-religious people. I just believe that our world is going through enough pain as it is, and we need more love and humanistic attitudes and behaviors.
