My dad was such a man of pride
But now his soul has spread its wings and flown
In solemn silence, so many gathered 'round
To remember him and the life he shared
It was a gathering of friends and family
It was a beautiful day
With clouds laden with tears,
Tears of grief and joy, of never saying goodbye
There were so many stories told of his life and deeds
Stories of courage, of love and of humility
All of their hearts were bound together in memory
My dad departed so peacefully in his sleep
No pain was felt, no fear, yet so real
The sadness was unbearable, yet we had embraced
The life of my dad and the memories
My dad had been an essential part of life for us all
His laugh, his smile, and his pride
As we say goodbye, our love for him grows ever strong
A life, a love, a legacy, A father so proud and kind.
