My ginger shadow, my furry, warm sun,
Another day with you has just begun.
You wake me gently, a head-nudge, a purr,
My sweet orange cat, beyond any blur.
With fur like marmalade, soft and bright,
You fill my world with a happy light.
My black hair tumbles as I reach to stroke,
Your rumbling motor, a comforting cloak.
We share our mornings, a quiet, soft ease,
As you stretch and yawn, perfectly at peace.
You chase the dust motes, a hunter so grand,
Then flop on my book, a king of the land.
In your golden eyes, a wisdom profound,
The happiest, most loyal friend I've found.
You nap on my lap, a heavy, warm weight,
Sealing our bond, our beautiful fate.
My sweet orange boy, or girl, so dear,
You banish all worries, and quell every fear.
I wouldn't trade your quirky, soft charm,
For anything else, keeping me warm.
