My Glass Dollhouse

Hello there, this is my little glass dollhouse
I am sorry, but you can not come inside
It has been very carefully constructed
To protect me, from the whole worldwide
It was designed to keep contact obstructed
To keep you safely stuck, on the outside
To keep my suffering slightly deducted
To give me a place of safety, to ever hide
I have been in here for thirty long year's
Ever since that horrible day that you died
Watching the world quickly pass me by
I want to participate, but I am petrified
My peers are out, getting wet behind the ears
But as for myself, I am far too preoccupied
Sitting safely in my glass dollhouse, on standby
Ever pondering the reasons for your suicide
I see the world and I think to myself
The outside, it does looks halfway alright
But then I see the photos of yourself
And remember what you told me that last night
You stay within your four glass walls
These four glass walls they spell safety
You stay contained you will not fall
You may even live to be eighty
You sit and watch with your eyeballs
Watch them all wander and explore
You sit and watch them play baseball
Your need to participate, you ignore
You sit and watch them play with dolls
But you never go out that glass door
Watch them from morning to nightfall
You sit and watch them forevermore
It is called safety protocol my dear
It's the way to avoid the world's pitfalls
It is the one and only way to engineer
That you will not end up like me
You see, outside is a harsh reality
And if you want to stay living and carefree
Stay inside, watch people, stare at pictures
Dusty old pictures of the ghost of me
