My Mother used to say
This world is a mouthful i pray you never choke
The struggle so intense i Pray for no sign of stroke
The things ive seen bother mind's peace
Its a hustle we all want a piece
Of the good life promised
But its the bad days that brought this
The more you try
The more you want to cry
For the well of your soul never runs dry
The ocean of your tears throws waves
As sorrow digs graves
My mother used to say
Nights pass with no food for the soul
Your knees will feel the roughness of the soil
As you kneel and pray for better days
Praying for hunger and struggle to give you space
My Mother Used To Say
Patience is a virtue
But dont just stand as a statue
it takes some trying
for a prey to escape the jaws of a predator
Dont give up without an effort
Flying doesnt only start at the airport
but in your dreams
When your craving for happiness screams
My Mother Used To Say
The little that you have just pray for it
And thank God for it
Because somewhere someone wish they had it
As a little lad i didnt understand these words
Beacause my life was balanced with a tripod
My mother, my father and i
But my tripod lost one leg, my mother.
So the windows to my soul began to shutter
And my life span out of balance
But still i stand tireless
My mother used to say
One day i will no longer live
struggle wont kill you if you believe
i have not built you a mansion
but with you i leave a foundation
My son. Take heed of these words.
For i rest now. Heaven has a better place for me.
In Loving Memory Of My Mother. Rest In Peace
