My Muse

My Muse
Every waking day
a quiet reminder of the emptiness.
A song circles my mind
a tune of sorrow,
whispering loss.

I think I may have lost my muse.

Before her, life was metal
fast, chaotic, relentless.
Beats collided, wild and untamed,
a storm of noise
without melody.

Then she came

And with her, rhythm.
Melodies of ecstasy,
verses of love.
Creativity poured like rain.
Lyrics filled every page,
songs spilled from my soul,
a symphony
a hundred pages long.

And when she said goodbye,
the music left with her.

Now only dirges remain.
Elegies breathing through hollow notes.
The melodies fading,
leaving nothing
but echoes.

Even the graveyard
knows better rhythm.

And every waking day,
when reality comes calling,
I am reminded

the silence she left behind
still knows my name.
