Imaginary Life
In a world governed by rules, spoken and unspoken, the majority of our lives can only play out in our minds to prevent innocent hearts from being broken.
Although tucked away safe from judgment and pain, never to see the light of day...your imaginary life still has so much to say.
But, just what if, only for one day, you gave your imaginary life permission to have its say.
My imaginary life would tell you that despite us never meeting or speaking a single word to one another, our energies are well acquainted. It would tell you that under different circumstances we would have some of the dopest conversations imaginable. You're easy to talk too and you enjoy listening over speaking because you would rather give than to take. You're extremely selective, which means, when you let someone in...they are a big deal and a milestone has been etched in time.
My imaginary life would show you that you are safe with me. Particularly the parts you don't trust anyone with or want them to see. The parts that you have so meticulously nutured back together through love and patience for yourself. With me...you would be free.
You watch from a distance not getting too close, leaving thoes with an unexplainable feeling...much like a ghost. Being the center of attention isn't your thing however, your energy is quickly absorbed and welcoming like fresh rain.
My imaginary life would tell you that I think your mind is a beautiful place I would love to explore. I want to hear about the many unpopular opinions you have that would invoke deep thought and possibly change my point of view. Yeah...all that and more.
It would tell you that I smile and think of you at random times when no one else is around. I've imagined your voice whispering in my ear...and loving the sound.
My imaginary life would tell you there is something special about encountering a soul who is unique and authentic. When there's an unexplainable attraction that has nothing to do with sexual implications, just a desire to know and be close to someone, so electric.
But in a world governed by rules, spoken and unspoken, the majority of our lives can only play out in our minds to prevent innocent hearts from being broken.
And because these words will never see the light of day, I will continue to keep my imaginary life tucked far, far,....far away.
