I ponder legends long since passed
Of people which faith surpassed
For what would those wise ones know
If here in our world the crossed the bridge so
Would they recognize the holy sites
Where Sunday’s sermons bring delight
Would they comprehend our shrines and hymns
And the sounds of praise heard outside our windows as lilting chimes
What of the thought that we consider
The stories of that great nectar
Would they gasp and stare in disbelief
At the notion this is seen by us as myth
My mind drifts on a nostalgic breeze
The thoughts of those before me take me to the seas
I wonder in this global faith what the wise would say
And if our ways would haunt them and bring them dismay
