New beginnings

New beginnings
On a cold summer night
I dreamt once of shadows,
whispering through deep places
echoes behind old doors,
soft steps in distant halls

Shivering, flickering, the dark pressed close,
a breath upon the window,
curtains trembling
against the breeze of memory.
Longing for a blanket
to tuck me in,arms of warmth
wrapping silence around me,
as moonlight drifted
from cracks in the ceiling.

But then—
a bright, shining morning gently unfolds
sun beams spill over cold sheets,
chasing the shadows away.
Hope rushes in with the golden light,
untangling the hush of midnight secrets.

Between sleep and dawn,
I wander through whispers
until the day finds me whole,
wrapped in the radiant promise
of a new beginning,
on a cold summer night
that has turned into morning
