Niece

The day she was born

Destined to be a queen

That's what everyone seen

One smile is all it took

It made me warm inside

I smiled back and sighed

She was my first niece

Still I cannot forget

Pretty as the sunset

Growing each day

Smarter and stronger

Not a baby any longer

Now her own kids

Just as beautiful

No moment ever dull

I will always remember

Her in my thoughts

Which happens to be a lot

We've had disagreements

We always make amends

My ear I will always lend

Forever she will be

Filled with much zest

I wish her the best

For many years now

She's been wonderful

Made my life so full

For this person

Hiding tears is tough

And words are not enough
