Unfathomable trees,
with lifeless branches stretching out.
Thick undergrowth,
all wrapped in a blanket of darkness.
Wandering along this unknown path,
both lost and curious.
Scent of mould and rotten flesh filled my nostrils.
Tiny white eyes flicker about,
peeping out from their hiding .
Inspecting the newcomer,
not in a friendly but rather an ambiguous way.
Shrills of creatures could be heard.
The forest was well alive.
Suddenly mist began to envelope my surrounding.
My feet became immovable,
it was the vines.
Their long tentacles wrapping around my limbs ,bonding them together.
I struggle as it pressed the breath out of my lungs, but futile it was.
They continue to climb, from shoulder to neck they go.
Coiling around my delicate throat,
I found myself suffocating.
I awoke screaming,
my heart palpitating.
Gasping for breath,
as beads of sweat trickles down my face.
Neither was I lost in a forest, nor was I going to die, but I was pretty much well alive on my bed.
