That Spring evening
Beside the Sycamore
In a garden of amber-coral blooms
I found myself in solitude.
A silver casket in hand
Containing your years old
Love letters.
Your redolance still captured
In those old pages..
I could feel
Your dulcet voice ringing my ears
Like it was you
Articulating those words
Of long ago
Gazing deep into my eyes...
And our familiar rendezvous
Beside the gurgling creek
Amongst the wild flowers
Reminds me
Of a beguiling past
Lost in the waves of time..
When our hearts beat together as one...
And the twinge of separation
Didn't paint our lives...
And now decades later
As we tread on paths so different
I am still reminded of you
And I wonder
Do you sometimes think of me too?
