Late one night, on the eve of what would soon be the year 1900, a man walked through the streets of his home town. He stewed in anger and passionate hatred for this time and place. Another year had come and passed while he let life pass him by. The world was changing and yet again, he thought his actions and emotions were meant for a different era and setting. He paused and looked at the clear sky, taking the beautiful sight for granted; not knowing that one day pollution of light would block the view of all the celestial bodies. He laughed halfheartedly, realizing that even with all his profound ideas and thoughts, he was not the first to have them nor would he be the last, and suddenly his anger and hate began to turn to empathy for those to come after, in hopes they would never feel as alone as he did now and then.
Now and then again
With you till the bitter end
Let us make it sweet
