I'm sitting outside while I write
In a couple hours it will be daylight
Rain has been falling overnight
The chill in the air has a bite
Cover up in your blankets tight
Now everything is all wet in sight
Seeing this weather will not excite
But I have a hot coffee to my delight
Morning coffee gets my mind to ignite
In my head I read over and I recite
I look inside for things to incite
Maybe I can give a bit of insight
Now my belly feels like it's in a dogfight
Perhaps it's time tend to my appetite
My stomach sometimes is not polite
I will end this and I will take flight
As for now I will go return inside
