Sitting at the back door

Listening to the geese

It's after ten o'clock

There's a cool breeze

Smoking a cigarette

Watching the darkness

Lights are seen faintly

Still spooky regardless

It's now October

Winter is closer

Autumn will be over

Weather will be polar

As the temperature gets colder

Those geese are very loud

They all converse between

Some sound like laughter

As each one let's out a scream

Traffic can be heard too

The vehicles pass on by

Trucks, vans and cars

From point A to B they arrive

I can hear a small animal

Rustling down in the bushes

A cat or may be a raccoon

To the back through the fences

Now I'm craving coffee

Feeling a bit chilly
