When light falters all too soon on our halcyon days
And darkness saunters much too long over dilemma's maze
Where hope draws tenuous and rancor's reaching tendrils twine
'round thought and tinge mind with what the pessimist divines
Pride sinks in arduous cause midst resolve's utter plummet
Bleakly thrown lowly in pit of regret's loathsome stomach
An err to longly dwell, so dream the aurorean summit
Of when you surmount strife and pierce your fray upon a time
Stay your hand in persistence, and brave its perilous climbs
Til when o'er plumed sea of clouds which blotted the peak so nigh
