Oh! What Compassion...

Battered, bruised and mangled...
I view him as he on the cross did hang...
As he my sins annulled...
Took away the pangs of sin and broke it's fang...
Driven by compassion...
He gave his life a ransom...
Though I may not fully understand his passion...
As at Calvary stood his transom...
His death gave me access...
It was my key to the Throne of Mercy...
For like sheep I had indeed digressed...
And mine would have been the fate of Percy...
He paid my debt in full and whole...
He gave me victory complete and square...
My wounded soul he did console...
I now must love him too...
Obey, trust and follow him..
Before I journey through the sea of Jordan a passenger in eternities canoe...
That I may not spend eternity in grim...
